DESCRIPTION - from the game
The object of chess is better understood if you think of it as a battle between
two armies; your White Army and the Black Army.  Chess, you see, is at
least 1000 years old, and thus dates back to times when countries were ruled
by Kings, and Armies were led by them.  So important in those days was the
King, that should he ver be captured or killed, the battle was ended, because
the Army whose King was killed or captured soon surrendered or fled in
wild retreat.....
